Wofford Fun Run

Wofford Fun Run

Yesterday I mentioned that my son had another Fun Run event this week. Here is one of my favorite shots of some of the kids participating in the run. The run was held at Wofford University's soccer stadium. The kids had to run one or two laps around the track depending on their age group. Quite a few kids were there this year and the weather was much more pleasant than last year. It was just cool enough to be comfortable, and cloudy enough to keep the sun from glaring into the kids' eyes. Plus, the clouds helped to soften the light on the kids too which was good for photography.

Keep shooting.

I like the depth of field in this photo - your son is perfectly isolated and is the clear subject in this picture, while the composition and the inclusion of the other runners still shows the "story" in this scene.

Thanks, Pixel. Unfortunately, my son isn't in this photograph. I just liked the image because of the all of the kids and the depth of field as you mentioned.

Ooops - I thought the kid in the grey T-shirt was your son. My mistake.

Still a nice picture, though.

Love the intensity on the faces. Great to see kids out getting exercise and not playing video games! Love the image.

These Fun Runs are sponsored by the YMCA. There is usually a speaker who talks briefly about being active and exercising before the events start. They aren't competitive at all unless the kids themselves approach them that way.
